gay rights
Today at school was the saddest thing. Today was a day that people for gay rights took a silent vow for the day. A certain racial group (which i do not wish to point fingers of hatred toward) who is very NOT for gay rights showed up at school with shirts that said "homosexuality is a sin" and it had the word "gay" with an X through it and listed support from the Bible. I was sickened. I have realized that I am very for gay rights and I do not believe God loves them any less than any of us straight people. God's love isn't conditional on whether or not we are attracted biologically to the "right" people. Anyways, today at school EVERYONE was upset and mad at these people who were wearing the shirts and handing out pamplets. This sort of christianity sickens me. I went up to one of these people during my History class and asked them what they thought about Jesus saying "Love one another as I have loved you". What they were doing is not love, it is hatred. I believe that homosexuality is not a choice and therefore there is no way God can punish his children for this. I believe everyone in the world has the right to be happy. The guy I talked to in class was so narrow minded i wanted to shoot myself. His arguement with the bible doesn't make any sense! i believe Jesus came because the earth and religion weren't how He wanted them. There were rules and biases and ridiculous heirarchies. Jesus came to show us how to live. He loved the prostitute and told of the good samaritian. He never said anything about gays. If you want to follow everyword of the old testament then look at this, Leviticus 20:27 'A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.' However, in the new testament when Men were going to stone a prostitute, he condemned them saying that whoever hasn't sinned can throw the first stone. I believe the new testment was written to show the world about God's mercy and love.
I asked the guy i was debating with if he was attracted to girls, he said yes, then I asked him if he would be able to change that if society said it was wrong. NO, he couldn't. I want to make a shirt that says, "Treating homosexuals with hatred is a sin". How can they be commenting on someone elses' lifestyle? Why did they care? Why don't they focus on an issue that actually affects them? I also have realized that I am for gay marriage. here is what i believe: The reason so many people are against gay marriage is for the "sanctity of marriage". The "sanctity of marriage" is very much ruined already by the 50% divorce rate! I personally wish to have a sanct marriage and I will do that. All humans can do to protect this is DO IT THEMSELVES. I believe everyone should have rights. who am I as a straight person to have the power of homosexuals telling them whether or not they can have a marriage? WHY should i care? my marriage is all that i can worry about. Anyways, i am all riled up. I am christian, i firmly believe in God and trust in His love. Just because I have taken to heart when he says to love my neighbors doesn't nullify this believe.

Hey! i just got picassa and so i am now officially obsessed with posting pictures. This one was taken during the summer when Danny and I went to the beach. i thought it was very representative of my character.
